Congo Youth

Our Mission

Our mission and duty is to take practical and necessary measures to prevent
genocide. The Center for the Prevention of Genocide is a nonprofit charity that
serves as one of the world’s only early warning systems for massive human
rights violations.

We monitor international hotspots for indicators of genocide using on-line
sources, as well as people and organizations on the ground in those locations.
Using these resources, we compile evidence of genocide abuse and bring the
information to government organizations and the media.

History

The Center for the Prevention of Genocide was created after forty years
of genocide and humanitarian scholars calling for such a center. We monitor and
study precursors of genocide present around the world. We are committed to
using politically neutral and technical methods to confirm, anticipate and aid
in the prevention of genocide. We use on the ground resources and a network of
NGO, governmental and international organizations to compile and publish
evidence.

Founded in October 2000 as an affiliate charitable organization of Improve The
World International, the Center is made up of 15-25 volunteer staff members,
and includes MA students of International Relations, Peace and Conflict
Prevention, IT specialists, Humanitarian scholars and other specialized
volunteers.

Combining high academic standards and advanced technology, the Center brings
nonpartisan, non-religiously affiliated information to policymakers and the
media, with the goal of preventing genocide.

The Senior Fellowship Program is composed of a qualified group of retired or

Each fellow is expected to conduct and publish research and oversee the human

Nations.  Finally, fellows mentor CPG’s interns as a means of enhancing
